VibeCheck ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Anonymous user ID generated by Firebase Authentication. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identity information to create an account.
• Optional display name you choose within the app.

Device Information

• A unique device identifier, used solely to manage your energy balance and prevent abuse.

User-Generated Content

• Photos you select for vibe-checking. Images are compressed locally on your device (max 512px, 60% quality) before being transmitted.
• Captions or text you provide with your posts.
• Fan circle configurations (personas you create or customize).

Usage Data

• Energy balance and usage metrics (e.g., posts per day).
• In-app purchase status (ad-free, expanded fan slots).

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the service: Process your photos through AI to generate fan comments and vibe scores.
• Manage your account: Sync your profile, fans, and posts across sessions.
• Prevent abuse: Device binding ensures fair usage of the energy system.
• Improve the app: Understand usage patterns to enhance the experience.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore Database) — stores your account and content data. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google Gemini API — processes your photos and text to generate AI responses. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored by the AI service.
• Cloudflare — acts as an API proxy for secure communication. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
• DiceBear — generates avatar images for fan personas. Only a random seed string is sent; no personal data is shared.

4. Data Storage and Security

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
• Your data is stored in Google Firebase with security rules that restrict access to your own data only.
• We do not store your photos on our own servers. Images are processed in real-time and stored only in your Firebase account.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above, strictly to provide app functionality.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Your data is retained as long as you use the app.
• You can delete all your data at any time through the app's account deletion feature. This permanently removes your profile, posts, fan configurations, and Firebase account.
• Upon deletion, your device record is marked as inactive and your energy balance is reset.

7. Children's Privacy

VibeCheck is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data stored in your account (visible within the app).
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time.
• Contact us with questions or concerns about your privacy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
